About The Instructors

Bill and Andrea O’Connor are registered yoga teachers from Burlington, VT.

They were both in the midst of successful 20-year careers in marketing and sales when they sought relief from the world of 12-hour workdays. They took up yoga in 2001 and found what they were looking for - an antidote to stress, injury, and aging.

Andrea left marketing and founded WorkingWell Inc. and Destinations Yoga. She now teaches yoga and Gyrotonic movement exclusively.

Bill teaches yoga several times a week while keeping his finger on the pulse of the wine business as a sales manager.

Avant Yoga Wine Tasting: Wines for the Moment
Waybury Inn chefs Donna Seibert, Christian Grollier and Mathew Pitz create your dining experience for the weekend. With their help, Bill O’Connor, certified wine educator and 25-year wine industry veteran, selects wines to compliment the chef’s spectacular offerings – from scallops to sweets.

The Three Jewels
Done seated or lying down, this yoga practice uses blankets, bolsters, and props to support the body in complete ease as you stretch. Poses are held for 7 to 10 minutes allowing muscles to release completely.

 
Saturday, April 25
7-9 am Silent Time & Breakfast
Silent time for sleeping late, meditation, and full country breakfast
9 -11 am Yoga for Summer Fun

Learn the alignment principles of Anusara Yoga for more flexibility, strength and fun in your summer pursuits. This workshop is designed to slowly open and warm all the muscle groups, then work on leg and shoulder strength and ease-of-movement, followed by twists and forward bends. Rediscover fluidity and power as you prepare for summer pastimes from gardening to biking to rocking in the hammock!

11-11:30 Breath and Meditation (optional)
Learn to play with the breath and then explore a guided meditation.
11:30– 1:00 pm Lunch at Waybury's Historic Pub
1-3 pm Free Time

Yoga and Chocolate
Stability and willpower; enjoyment and compassion. Yoga brings a balance of these core energies into our lives; chocolate sweetens the deal.  Learn poses that support core strength while encouraging expansion, openness, and compassion. Then partake in fresh, Vermont-made artisan chocolate flavored with spices and flowers that uniquely support these core qualities. Reconnect with your power and loving kindness with yoga and an out-of-this-world chocolate experience!

Back Bending to Bliss
Back bends are fun, energizing, and lift our spirits. In this session, we’ll turn on the energy for backbends and use yoga to explore the tight areas we need to open up: shoulders, hips, abdominals, upper thighs and of course, the back!

11-11:30 Breath and Meditation (optional)
Build on Saturday’s experience with mindfulness and breath.
11-1 pm Lunch & Departure

Enjoy a light lunch on the porch. Join together for a closing ceremony and reluctantly pack up for return home.

Yoga clothes, outdoor walking shoes, comfortable lounging clothes including slippers. Bring your own yoga mat and props if you like, or, the Waybury Inn will provide a mat and yoga props (bolster, blanket, two blocks, and strap).
